Going back a few years, the duty and tax free shopping experience at Toronto Pearson left much to be desired. All that has changed, and changed in a big way.
Toronto Pearson, or Lester B Pearson International Airport (to give it its full name) received the IATA Eagle Award for Most Improved Airport. This annual award is given to recognise an airport’s overall improvement, airline satisfaction and cost efficiency. In a seperate award the Nuance Group were named Best Airport Travel Retailer in the Americas for their retail operation at Toronto.
Step inside and it’s clear the award was well deserved. Having created the largest airport retail area in North America they have used the space well, offering a comprehensive and stylish range of cosmetics, fragrances, liquor and confectionery together with a broad range of fashion and accessories. They have also used this space to stock some of the world’s most luxury brands. You will find showcased lines by Gucci, Prada, Roots, Guess, Hugo Boss, Burberry, Hermès and Givenchy amongst others • in addition to fashion boutiques by Michael Kors, DKNY and Lacoste.
Exclusive duty free and travel retail offers for liquor are also present with some quality offerings from the Glenfiddich, Macallan and Chivas ranges, together with fine cognacs and brandies from Remy Martin and Camus. For excellent wines, Peller Estates – ‘Canadian Winery of the Year’ 2014 store features amongst many, Trius Winery at Hillebrand, Thirty Bench Wine Makers and Wayne Gretzky Estates ranges.
For those who want to smarten up a little, get yourself a shoe shine (T1, level 2 and T3 Departures level) or try the 10 minute manicure on level 2, Terminal 1. And for children, either bored before they fly, or too young to be excited by duty free shopping offers, there are play areas in Terminal 1 – Domestic Departure Gate 124 and Terminal 3 – International Departure Gate C34.Free internet access is now available throughout Toronto Pearson, and to connect choose “Toronto Pearson Wi-Fi” SSID from your available networks list.
