Turkmenistan Duty Free Allowances
Arrival airports for international passengers to Turkmenistan are either Ashgabat International Airport (ASB) – formerly Saparmurat Turkmenbashy International Airport – which serves the capital, Ashgabat or Mary Airport (MYP).
From 2016, a new airport near Ashgabat, Oghuz Khagan International, is expected to be completed.
For arriving passenger and tourists to Turkmenistan the following duty free allowances and exemption limits apply.
200 cigarettes or 200g of tobacco for passengers aged 16 and over.
2 litres of alcohol for passengers aged 21 and over.
Personal and private effects are permitted. All arriving passengers must complete a customs declaration form which you must retain and present upon departure.
This declaration will detail all the effects you have for your visit including all valuables and currency. Your items, less the money and consumables used, must accompany you on departure.
If you have purchased presents or goods whilst visiting please ensure you ask the retailer to provide a purchase certificate to include your means of payment which you will need to keep with you.
Remember to always check before you travel. Allowances and exemptions for Turkmenistan may change with little or no warning
