London Stansted Parking
Stansted parking has recently gone through some major restructuring, making it more convenient but also drastically raising prices.
There is no longer any free parking or waiting area for pick-ups.
Short-term parking is available on Terminal Road, adjacent to the main terminal, and is a short walk away from the terminal. The minimum increment available for purchase is 15 minutes.
There is also a “”Fast Track”” option, with parking right beside the terminal entrance and wider spaces, however you pay a premium for this convenience. Valet service is available in the forecourt of the terminal. Be careful as prices are high for long term parking in these areas.
For longer stays mid-stay or long-stay parking is more economical. Park here as you approach the airport just off the M11 (junction 8 or 8a, then follow signs). They are located 3 and 6 miles away, respectively, and require a bus transfer to the terminal. Wait and travel times via transfer service are unpredictable, especially during peak hours so give yourself an extra hour when using these lots.
The alternative is the Orange Park and Ride service, but it only operates between 4am and 10pm and your vehicle may be moved between their two lots.
Pre-booking is available and recommended for all official lots, and may be done online at the airport website (www.stanstedairport.com).
There are 12 independent meet-and-greet services available at Stansted, most of which park your car off-site, and come well recommended.
