Brunei Duty Free Allowances

Brunei Duty Free AllowancesAll visitors and arriving passengers to Brunei, officially the Nation of Brunei, the Abode of Peace, are entitled to a duty free allowance.Full entitlement for these allowances apply to non-Muslim passengers of 17 years of age or older arriving through an approved point of entry.

The current official points of entry are;

  • Airports, Brunei Darussalam International Airport. (see our airport shopping guide)
  • Ports. Muara Port, Serasa Ferry Terminal, Putat Control Post and Belait Wharf.
  • Land Crossings. Sungai Tujoh Control Post, Kuala Lurah Control Post, Puni Control Post and Labu Control Post.

Alcohol
2 bottles of alcoholic spirit (maximum total of 2 litres) and 12 cans of beer/lager (330ml per can) subject to the following.
All alcohol must be declared on arrival. It must be no less than 48 hours since your last visit, it must be for personal use only and must be stored/consumed at your place of stay.
Tobacco
No allowances; Duty is now charged on all cigarettes and tobacco products. Also all cigarettes, cigars and tobacco products must have health warnings displayed on their packaging.
Perfumes
60 ml of perfume and 250 ml of eau de toilette.
Personal Effects
You are permitted to bring in personal and private used effects/goods (not new) for your own use.
