Duty Free Allowances ArgentinaArgentina, like many countries, have different allowances for tourists/visitors and those returning residents/Argentinian nationals.These allowances enable you to bring in goods that are free of taxes and duties, ie. Duty Free.

Tourists/visitors & returning residents or workers on a 1 year contract and under arriving from Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay or Uruguay.

  • 200 cigarettes and 25 cigars.
  • 1 litre of alcoholic spirits.
  • Up to 2 kilograms of canned foods.
  • Gifts and presents to the value of $100.00 (One hundred US Dollars).

These full allowances apply to those of 18 years of age or older. 50% of this allowance applies to those under 18 years of age.

Tourists/visitors & returning residents or workers on a 1 year contract and under arriving from all other countries.

  • 400 cigarettes and 50 cigars.
  • 2 litre of alcoholic spirits.
  • Up to 5 kilograms of canned food.
  • Gifts and presents to the value of $300.00 (Three hundred US Dollars).

These full allowances apply to those of 18 years of age or older. 50% of this allowance applies to those under 18 years of age.

For immigrants and workers on contracts over 1 year in duration these allowances differ again, and you will need to check BEFORE you travel.This is a guide only.
